LAKERS TRADING FOR STEVE NASH
It was quite a tumultuous 36 hours for me. Take a trip through my brain, on twitter. These are the rantings of a lunatic.
I’ve always loved watching Nash play, but never really thought he had the juice to put a team over, even in his prime (I know, easy to say now, but I would’ve told you then too). I’m not certain he’s ever guarded anyone in his entire life. Derek Fisher cooked Nash in every Playoff series.
So when I heard about the Nash to the Knicks rumor, I started to have a little fun on twitter. Twelve hours later, I was in a tailspin.
UPDATE: I’m coming around on Nash. He’ll bring a positive energy and chemistry to a stagnant team, he’ll pair brilliantly with Gasol - who I suspect the Lakers will now keep (Pau and Steve will hug each other 5 million times in the first week of the season), and he takes the ball out of Kobe’s hands (which can hurt sharing from time to time).
And his massive defensive shortcoming can be wiped out in one fell swoop with the acquisition of a certain Orlandonian (I made that word up)…
