From 6th Man of the Year to Deactivated Player of the Year…
The Dallas Mavericks deactivated Lamar, which means he won’t play and isn’t in the locker room, but is still technically on the team. The Mavs will most likely attempt to trade him before the NBA Draft this summer.
I love Lamar Odom, because I’m a Laker fan, but his disappearing act in Big D is far worse than unprofessional. It’s pathetic. Every other NBA team can and should be worried about him pulling the same stunt next season. If I’m an NBA owner, I cannot, in good conscience, reward his behavior.
(Of course, he’d play well if he returned to LA, so the Lakers should offer him vet minimum. Welcome home, Lamar!!!)
“I usually get nervous when I have to talk in front of people, but tonight…I feel like I’m at home.”
- Lamar Odom, 2010 NBA Championship ring ceremony [watch]
Welcome home, Lamar.
MUST WATCH: One of my favorite Lamar Odom moments
Kevin Garnett has made a career out of barking at foreign point guards, but Lamar Odom is from Queens, NY, son.
What to watch for: Odom tattoos KG’s rear at :08.
“To be honest with you, I don’t like it. It’s tough to lose Lamar. It’s hard when you’ve been through so many battles with players to just see them go somewhere else. It’s tough.”
- Kobe Bryant
Lamar comes home, tonight.
